Byrd's Lofts and Market
Houston, Texas
Working from the original 1934 architectural drawings, the building exterior was meticulously restored to its original Moderne Style. The existing structure, which was constructed using 1884 masonry foundations, was significantly modified to accommodate new stairs and a modern passenger elevator for the residential units. The three story building now houses retail and a restaurant on the first floor along with loft style condominiums on the second and third floors. The rooftop was updated to include a large rooftop garden space for the residential tenants.
