Innovative reconstruction of commercial office space into creative studio space
The 15th floor of a 20-story office tower located in the Houston, Texas, Greenway Plaza area was previously occupied by a radio station that had been subdivided into a rabbit warren of small broadcast studio spaces. It was gutted to expose a cast-in-place concrete slab utilizing the added volume to create workstations and studio space along the floor-to-ceiling glazing and north glass exposure. The trapezoid building plan allowed RHA to take advantage of an acute corner in which to locate a small conference area overlooking the City of Houston. Interior offices and a glass-enclosed larger conference room adjacent to the reception area completed the build-out.
