A multifunctional addition to Salem Lutheran Church supporting communal, recreational and educational activities

The Salem Lutheran Church Community Center, a multifunctional addition to Salem Lutheran Church, was built to support communal, recreational and educational facilities. The building is designed around a large two-story commons/atrium space that functions as both a reception hall and fellowship hall. Accessed directly from the commons through a glazed wall is a double gymnasium that features a cantilevered running track, workout rooms and locker rooms. A two-story wing opposite the gymnasium consolidates all early childhood education functions on the ground floor and youth areas on the second floor.
