Salem Lutheran Church | Tomball, Texas

Master planning began in the 1990s and has evolved in response to acquisition of new property

Located just west of Tomball, Salem is the oldest Lutheran church site in Texas, originally founded in the mid 1800s as the heart of the German Lutheran community of Rose Hill. RHA initially developed planning for the site in the 1990s as a precursor to the construction of the new sanctuary. The master plan has been revisited twice in the interim in response to acquisition of new property by the church. The most recent acquisition expanded the contiguous site area to almost 100 acres. The community center and outdoor recreation facilities are the most recent components of the master plan. The Community Center serves as the linchpin of the daily activities. It provides physical education and food service for the existing K-8 School, will link to the future Middle School, and serves as the gateway to the adjacent outdoor recreation fields.
