Kingsland Medical Office Complex, Phases I and II | Katy, Texas

Reflecting the practice of medicine in contemporary terms while incorporating the ideas of nature's role in the healing process

Located west of Houston in the suburban development of Katy, this two-phased project includes a medical office building and an ambulatory surgery center. The two-story medical office building represents Phase I of the multiphase center planned and designed by RHA. The second floor of the building is dedicated to the primary tenant/developer with all administrative functions centralized in the west wing and examination and operative functions in the east. A two-story atrium provides a dramatic entry space and a portal into the courtyard area that links Phase I and Phase II. The deep overhang of the second floor on the south elevation provides shading for the glazing and serves to create a covered drop-off at the atrium.

Phase II comprises a three-story steel frame structure that houses an ambulatory surgery center and outpatient physical therapy center on the ground floor. A radiology center and rehabilitation hospital and hyperbaric wound care clinic occupy the second floor. Medical office space is located on the third floor.
