March 12, 2012 — Groundbreaking took place on March 12, 2012 for the City of La Porte's new 6-bay Fire Station #1. The new station will house both Fire Chief and Fire Marshall's offices and be the primary dispatch and control center in the event of a natural disaster. Construction is scheduled for completion in December 2012.
